The Hunnovators Are Coming: NextGen Hungarian-Americans launch transatlantic innovation community on Pi Day
San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) March 14, 2015 -- SAN FRANCISCO, CA, March 14, 2015 – Neumann Society is holding its first large-scale international conference, the Hunnovators event, on March 14th, 2015 (aka Pi Day) in San Francisco at the the historic Fort Mason General's Mansion. Hunnovators is the first annual gathering for Hungarian American innovators and their friends living in the Bay Area or elsewhere in the US.
Neumann Society, a charitable 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded by a group of Hungarian-born innovators in Silicon Valley, is launching a transatlantic community of game-changing, mission-driven innovators from all disciplines to shape our future together. With their Hunnovators program, they are following the footsteps of renowned US innovators of Hungarian descent such as mathematician and “father of the computer” John von Neumann, Rubik’s cube inventor Erno Rubik, and presentation powerhouse Prezi CEO Peter Arvai.
As Dr. George Tilesch, President & Chairman of the Board of Neumann Society put it: “Hunnovators is our living blueprint for how the next generation of American Hungarian innovators and their friends can collaborate on improving our transatlantic future by re-mastering innovation according to 21st century rules. We will thrive by thinking big, by acting mindfully and by convening the best brains to deliver concrete and impactful innovation projects. This Spring, we are here to reframe our community, supercharge the next generation and map out new horizons for the Age of Innovation.”
The Hunnovators event will include prominent keynote speakers, such as Ambassador Eleni Kounalakis, Stanford Emeritus Professor Philip Zimbardo, Nominee IMF Executive Director Sunil Sabharwal, “Entrepreneurship for Peace” program mastermind Steven R. Koltai and Prezi Co-Founder/CEO Peter Arvai. Speakers will be addressing many facets of innovation like mindset, social responsibility, entrepreneurship, community and creativity. In the afternoon project teams will focus on creating tangible solutions for a better Hungary and US Hungarian community of tomorrow.
Dr. Zimbardo’s Heroic Imagination Project - with an incarnation in Hungary known as the Heroes Square movement - was chosen as Neumann Society’s Project of Excellence for the Year 2015. The world famous social psychologist added: “I am proud that my life's work will serve as our mental framework for the Hunnovators gathering. This event offers a unique chance to kickstart a process of transformation for adopting a growth mindset, an augmented platform for collaboration and a series of concrete innovation projects which will take us closer to our final goal of making Hungarians succeed in the 21st century.”
While #Hunnovators15 is already a big success and sold out, the Pi Day event will be streamed live from Fort Mason for California, Hungary and global audiences.
