Gary D. Radine, President and CEO of Delta Dental of California and Affiliates, Announces Retirement
San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) March 13, 2015 -- Gary D. Radine, president and CEO of San Francisco-based Delta Dental of California and its affiliated companies, announced today his retirement, to be effective December 31, 2015.
Radine has served as president and CEO of the group of companies for 14 years, during which enrollment grew almost 100% to more than 31 million, with gross revenues more than doubling to nearly $8 billion in 2013.
A 37-year veteran of the Delta Dental system, Radine served for 23 years as president and CEO of Delta Dental of Pennsylvania prior to becoming the first president and CEO of the enterprise system known as Dentegra Group, Inc. The system was formed in 2000 and includes Delta Dental of California, Delta Dental of New York, Inc., Delta Dental of Pennsylvania, Delta Dental Insurance Company and affiliated companies operating in a total of 15 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands. Following his retirement as president and CEO, Radine will help oversee Mexico affiliate Dentegra Seguros Dentales and Delta Dental of Puerto Rico.
As part of a year-long transition plan, Anthony S. Barth, current executive vice president and chief operating officer, will share responsibilities as president and continue to serve in his current role as chief operating officer during 2015. On January 1, 2016, he will take over as president and CEO.
“The growth of our companies and the unexpected changes in the industry and in the world of business over my 37 years in the Delta Dental system have been most rewarding and educational,” said Radine. “The Board of Directors and I are all confident that Mr. Barth will continue to carry our organization forward, and I look forward to what the next 15 years will bring for it. He has been working with me in every substantial decision and direction we’ve made for the company over almost all these 14 years, so I know he will keep our upward trajectory moving in that direction.”
Barth will become Delta Dental of California’s fifth CEO over the company’s 60 years since its founding. The company’s headquarters will continue at its San Francisco downtown office at First and Mission streets where about 600 staff are located. More than 3,000 employees work for the group of companies, including offices in California, Pennsylvania, Georgia, Florida, New York and Texas.
Barth, a 27-year veteran of the company, currently also serves as president of affiliate Delta Dental Insurance Company. Previous positions include senior vice president and chief operating officer for Delta Dental Insurance Company and former affiliate PMI Dental Health Plan, which merged with Delta Dental of California in 2006.
