Feld has also authored several books on building a startup ecosystem, including Startup Communities: Building an Entrepreneurial Ecosystem in Your City.

According to Big Omaha Event Director, Caleb Ulffers, “Feld has made a huge impact on the nation’s startup ecosystem through the companies he’s built and invested in both through Techstars and Foundry Group.” He continued, “We’re thrilled to have him in to experience what we’re building right here in the Midwest.”

The conference is held at KANEKO in Omaha, Nebraska, May 6-8 and is surrounded by pop up events, after parties and great local food. Organizers expect 850 attendees and are putting a special emphasis on founders.

“Founders are the soul of Big Omaha,” Ullfers said. “We want to remain intentional about keeping that focus by creating opportunities for this audience to make the right connections.”

Marc Hemeon, co-founder of North, which he built with Digg founder Kevin Rose, is also slated to speak. Hemeon founded Watchville, an online news site dedicated to wristwatch news.
