Actor Walter E. Jones stopped by E!'s Maria Menounos’ online broadcast network, AfterBuzz TV to chat with host Kaori Takee. The original Mighty Morphin Power Ranger discusses his take on his friend Jason David Frank (Green Ranger) wanting to take on former WWE champ CM Punk in a UFC bout: “You know what I’m sure it would be a very interesting fight, and who knows who would walk away the winner. I gotta give the green ranger edge, you know that’s my boy.”
When asked about his thoughts on producer Adi Shankar’s controversial Power Ranger fan film, Jones says, “It was an experiment with how dark could it go, how bad could it be and you know, could they all turn on each other? And it could be this dark and nasty. It was intriguing, but you know I didn’t think it was right for most of our fan base.”
On the Power Ranger reboot currently in production, Jones’ expressed that he would love to be in it in some capacity. “I’m hoping they would have the sensibility for us to at least have a cameo.”
Jones, a salsa champion, when asked if he would ever do “Dancing with the Stars”, replied, “I would love to be on the show.”
Walter E. Jones was the original Black Power Ranger on the hit 90s Fox show “Mighty Morphin Power Rangers”. He went on to do other roles on “The Shield” and “CSI”. If you listen, he lends his voice in many movies as he does voice acting. Currently he is touring with the other Original Power Rangers, so you may see him at your next convention.
