Range of Flooring Solutions From Tarkett Residential Featured on National Geographic Channel’s Cabin Fever
Solon, Ohio (PRWEB) March 16, 2015 -- A wide range of residential flooring solutions from Tarkett, the worldwide leader in innovative and sustainable flooring and sports surface solutions, were recently featured as part of National Geographic Channel’s new show Cabin Fever. The episode, which premiered on March 3, centered on construction of a log cabin in Minnesota that pushes the limits of the building envelope. Tarkett’s FiberFloor®, Laminate and Luxury Vinyl Tile (LVT) were utilized throughout the space.
The episode, titled “Lakeside Log Cabin,” highlighted the construction of a log cabin for a National Guardsman and his wife in Lake Vermillion, Minnesota. Maj. McGowan and his wife, Jessica — an athletic, outdoorsy couple who own five acres of prime real estate on the shore of Lake Vermillion, Minnesota — watched as builder Nate Heim and his team construct a wilderness retreat ideal for enjoying the outdoors and raising a family.
Products from Tarkett’s FiberFloor, Laminate and LVT collection were utilized during the construction of the cabin:
• In the kitchen, FiberFloor® was specified. Beautiful and practical, FiberFloor® is designed with woven fiberglass, foam and tough, resilient wear layers that stand up to real-life water, moisture, scuffs, scratches and indentations. A certified asthma and allergy friendly™ alternative, FiberFloor® is a part of Tarkett’s iSelect system. The iSelect system groups all Tarkett flooring options into distinct color families to ensure easy coordination throughout the entire home.
• Tarkett’s Laminate product was used in the living room, hallway, and one of the bedrooms. Designed and engineered with 100 percent premium hardwood (cherry and oak), Tarkett Laminate provides increased indentation resistance and installs easily.
• For common “wet” areas in the bathrooms and laundry room, Tarkett Luxury Vinyl Tile (LVT) was the choice. Manufactured to provide versatility with unquestioned durability, the 16” x 16” tiles were installed with grouting to deliver an authentic tile aesthetic.
“To see our products featured in a project like this on the national stage works to affirm our place in the industry,” said Cynthia Mansfield, Communications Manager - Marketing at Tarkett North America. “The iSelect system makes it easy for homeowners to coordinate flooring products with other design elements of the home’s interior. And the floors themselves, all coming from the same color family, flow seamlessly from room to room. With FiberFloor, Laminate and LVT, you get durable, beautiful and safe flooring options.”
For their lakeside retreat, the McGowans, who also had Tarkett flooring in their previous home, selected flooring from the iSelect Fireside Chats’ color collection. The rich red and orange undertones of the collection complement the home’s natural, relaxed feel. In addition, the resilient FiberFloor flooring is asthma and allergy friendly™ certified.
