Together with HP and other ecosystem members, we will deliver new virtualized network functions for telecom operators to launch services faster and more cost-effectively
Paris, France (PRWEB) March 18, 2015
Qosmos®, the market leader in embedded Deep Packet Inspection (DPI) and network intelligence technology for use in physical, SDN and NFV architectures, today announced that it has joined the HP OpenNFV Partner Program as an Application Partner. Qosmos technology will be used to conduct testing, characterization and validation on the HP OpenNFV infrastructure stack.
The HP OpenNFV Program is designed to help the telecommunications industry accelerate innovation and launch services faster, more efficiently and cost-effectively through virtualization of telecommunications core networks and network functions. The HP OpenNFV Program provides an open standards–based network functions virtualization (NFV) reference architecture along with HP industry-standard products and capabilities, offering service providers ready-to-deploy solutions that can enable the transformation from legacy networks to NFV and Software Defined Network (SDN)-enabled infrastructure.
Application partners consist of software vendors that conduct testing, characterization and validation on the HP OpenNFV infrastructure stack based on recommendations from the European Telecommunications Standards Institute’s (ETSI) NFV Industry Specification Groups (ISG).
Qosmos is the market leader for embedded DPI and network intelligence, providing the built-in application intelligence required for service-awareness in NFV environments. Developers benefit from rapid time-to-market, while telecom operators profit from optimized network services and reduced infrastructure costs. All products are based on the company’s flagship product, Qosmos ixEngine®, which is the de facto industry-standard DPI and metadata engine in telecoms, cloud and SDN architectures.
Through the OpenNFV Program and OpenNFV Labs, HP provides a robust ecosystem of NFV technology applications and services partners with a broad choice of application-specific environments, as well as a catalog of POCs, to quickly develop applications for cloud-enabled NFV deployments. HP OpenNFV Labs, funded jointly by partners and HP, serve as incubators for partners and carriers to collaborate on validation testing of NFV POCs prior to deployment in carrier networks.
“We are pleased to join the HP OpenNFV Program as an Application Partner,” said Jerome Tollet, CTO at Qosmos. “Together with HP and other ecosystem members, we will deliver new virtualized network functions for telecom operators to launch services faster and more cost-effectively.”
“The HP OpenNFV program is built on providing open, proven and innovative NFV solutions to our service provider customers,” said Werner Schaefer, Vice President, Network Functions Virtualization, HP. “We welcome Qosmos as a Technology Partner and look forward to them being a key member of our ecosystem and helping us to deliver world-class virtualized solutions.”
