WellCare to Award $20,000 in Micro-Grants to Support Social Service Agencies in Georgia

WellCare Health Plans, Inc. (NYSE: WCG) announced today that it will award $20,000 in micro-grants to support Georgia social service organizations. Nonprofit and 501(c)(3) organizations that offer services to address transportation, caregiving and dental needs are encouraged to apply.

WellCare Health Plans, Inc. (NYSE: WCG) announced today that it will award $20,000 in micro-grants to support Georgia social service organizations. Nonprofit and 501(c)(3) organizations that offer services to address transportation, caregiving and dental needs are encouraged to apply. The micro-grants will be awarded in denominations of $500, $1,000 or $1,500.

“The Social Safety Net is critical to achieving positive outcomes for the seniors, and low-income children and families that WellCare serves,” said Veatrice Futch, supervisor of WellCare of Georgia’s Community Advocacy team. “Decreases in funding are causing local, community-based public assistance organizations to cut back services. WellCare wants to do our part to sustain the Social Safety Net to support the health and vitality of our members, their families and the communities at large.”

Qualifying organizations can apply by completing a short application online at http://www.thecommunitycommitment.org/micro-grant-request-submission/. The application period is open until April 4.
