Dr. Joy Rohadfox Honored With 'Women Who Move The Nation' Award
Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) March 17, 2015 -- Dr. Joy Rohadfox, CEO of Rohadfox Construction Control Services Corporation (RCCSC), is honored with the “Women Who Move the Nation Award” at the Conference Of Minority Transportation (COMTO) for her contributions to the transportation industry.
At only 40-years-old Rohadfox is the key driver for RCCSC, an engineering and construction management firm, based in Atlanta, GA.
“To say that I am honored, does not begin to quantify my depth of gratitude for the "Women Who Move the Nation Award," states Rohadfox. “COMTO is to be commended for all the hard work the organization does to empower and create opportunities for women and minorities.”
Working in a male-dominated field Rohadfox has faced challenges as a female-minority owner, but have lived up to the values and business principles instilled by her father.
“It has been both rewarding and challenging as a young woman working in a male-dominated field,” states Rohadfox. “Long hours, demanding schedules, sexist jokes and clear resentful intrusion are often the norm within the construction industry. My voice and opinions often fell on deaf ears, but over time I eventually gained the trust and respect of my male colleagues, by not wearing my emotions on my sleeve and proving to be competent and capable of operating in this arena.”
Providing quality expertise in construction and program management services, RCCSC’s vast contribution is an extension of their success leaving an impact on some of the world’s most important projects from the Los Angeles International Airport to Afghanistan Construction Logistic Unit.
Dr. Joy Rohadfox has proved to be a successful leader in a male-dominated field and continues to break barriers in industries where women are the minority. “Working in this industry has been rewarding over the years and I’ve learned valuable lessons from my male counterparts,” Rohadfox states. “Listening is truly an art and it allows you to become creative by stirring up new thoughts even if it's from a chauvinistic point of view.”
