Community Memorial Health System Selects Quintron’s AccessNsite for Site Security

That was a good testament for the product and company, and the validation I needed to choose AccessNsite.”
Community Memorial Health System originated in 1902 as a single hospital serving its neighbors and has today grown into an expansive healthcare system that touches the lives of individuals throughout Ventura County, California, and beyond. Headquartered in Ventura, California, CMHS now consists of two hospitals (one in Ventura and the other in Ojai), thirteen clinics throughout Ventura County, two medical office buildings, and several other properties.
Many years ago, CMHS had an off-site data center built in order to keep records centralized for all of its facilities. At that time, an access control system, other than AccessNsite from Quintron, was selected to maintain its security. Recently, when it came time to expand the security system into the hospital in Ventura, Mr. Glass decided to review systems from multiple companies, including its existing security provider as well as Quintron Systems. “VAS Security was the only vendor that I solicited bids from that met my needs and expectations, added Glass. “In addition, some of the systems required annual support fees after the first year and that was not the case with Quintron. Technical support is available as needed with no additional charges and the few times support has been required, the technicians on the other end of the phone have always been pleasant, knowledgeable, and responsive. That was not the case with our prior security vendor.”
The installation and configuration process went smoothly and Quintron was able to convert the original system to AccessNsite without any difficulty. The Quintron system was so well received that CMHS after starting with just a handful of proximity readers has expanded to have almost 70 throughout its Healthcare System. The current system processes between 10 and 20 thousand transactions per day and the AccessNsite software has never experienced a single failure.
Through the use of proximity access control, CMHS has greatly increased security, especially at the hospital in Ventura, which was built in phases and ended up with 13 entrances and exits. Many of those have been restricted to employee use only and now it is simple to limit unauthorized access and direct the public to specific entrances for their entry and exit. As can be imagined, a hospital has many areas and departments that are off limits to the public and through the use of the access control system, restricting access to those areas is achieved. In addition, having a record of every individual that uses or attempts to use their badge to gain access to a restricted area is a great investigative tool for the Hospital’s Security Department.
“Although I am not at all a computer whiz, I have become very comfortable with AccessNsite and am able to navigate and manage the software easily and successfully,” added Glass. “I have no reservations about selecting AccessNsite and recommending Quintron and VAS Security to any prospective client.”
