Kodiak and Savox Communications Bring Remote Talkgroup Scrolling to Broadband PTT Users
Las Vegas, NV (PRWEB) March 18, 2015 -- Kodiak, the leading provider of broadband push-to-talk (PTT) solutions and Savox Communications, one of the largest professional communication solution providers in the world, announced today at IWCE a new Bluetooth remote speaker microphone. The Bluetooth Remote Speaker Microphone-155 (BTR-155) allows users of the Kodiak Broadband PTT solution to scroll through and select talkgroups without the need to access the PTT application on their smartphone.
Designed to IP55 standard, light-weight, and featuring large multi-function buttons perfect for workers with protective gloves, the BTR-155 is ideal for Broadband PTT users in transportation, utility, and manufacturing industries. By pairing a remote speaker microphone with remote talkgroup control, this new solution enables workers in rugged environments to work more efficiently—allowing them to manage PTT communications with the push of a button, never taking their gloves off or their smartphone out of their pocket. The result is a push-to-talk communications experience that is easier and more efficient than traditional land mobile radio (LMR) devices.
In addition to the BTR-155, Kodiak and Savox also announced that the Remote Speaker Microphone-30 (RSM-30) and Bluetooth Headset-101 (BTH-101) are available for Broadband PTT users. As with the BTR-155, the RSM-30 and BTH-101 are light-weight, rugged (IP55 standard), and designed to be worn and used by workers with protective goggles, glasses, and gloves. The addition of these products to the Broadband PTT ecosystem reflects the commitment Kodiak has to providing customers with choice, ensuring that they have a wide array of devices to choose from so that they can find the right fit for their specific needs.
“We are pleased to be able to expand the relationship with our long-time partner, Savox and to bring remote talkgroup scrolling control to Kodiak Broadband PTT users,” said Bruce Lawler, Co-Founder and Chief Product Officer, Kodiak. “Remote talkgroup scrolling control is a significant step forward for users in rugged environments, providing them with the advantages of Broadband PTT on a smartphone or tablet with the convenience of an LMR user experience.”
“As more and more customers switch from traditional LMR communications to Broadband PTT, it is important that we partner with leading vendors like Kodiak to develop innovative solutions that continue to make communications more efficient for workers in rugged environments,” said Bryan Price Vice President of Sales & GM Savox Canada. “These new products provide an integrated solution that offers an exceptional user experience that increases the efficiency of workers in even the most demanding industries.”
