Unbound Receives Top-Rated A+ Status From CharityWatch For 8th Consecutive Year
Kansas City, KS (PRWEB) March 18, 2015 -- Unbound has been recognized for the 8th consecutive year with an esteemed Top-Rated status by CharityWatch, America's most independent and assertive charity watchdog.
Unbound is the only child sponsorship organization to receive an A+ rating from the charity watchdog.
“We are very pleased to consistently receive CharityWatch’s highest rating of A+,” said Martin Kraus, director of finance at Unbound. “At Unbound, we are committed to being good stewards of the resources our sponsors and donors entrust to us.”
CharityWatch performs in-depth evaluations of complex charity financial reporting, including audited financial statements, tax forms, annual reports, state filings, and other documents. Once the analysis of a charity is complete analysts perform two calculations, program percentage and cost to raise $100 and then assign the charity a letter grade efficiency rating on an A+ to F scale.
Among the most important concerns to CharityWatch are an organization’s fundraising costs and how much revenue goes to support the program in the field.
More than 93 percent of all the money Unbound spends goes to program support. This is one of the highest percentages in the industry. The cost to raise $100 for the organization is $3.
Being on the Top-Rated list gives donors and supporters more confidence that Unbound is a credible organization.
