Graebel Releases 28-Page Report from the Ninth Annual Global Relocation Policy Summit

This week, Graebel published a 28-page summary that reports on the results and data from the ninth annual Global Relocation Policy Summit that was hosted by Graebel University, the educational arm of the international organization. Global mobility, talent management and human resource executives from the Global 100 and Fortune 500 attended the by-invitation event that was held at the Graebel Companies' world headquarters in Colorado two weeks ago. For three days, participants attended optional educational workshops and joined collaborative brain-storming sessions that focused on global mobility topics that were predetermined by the attendees. Cost saving tips, best practices and trends were gathered during sessions and summarized in this complimentary 28-page report available upon request from Graebel representatives in the Americas, EMEA and APAC regions.

Among the most prevalent topics from the Global Relocation Policy Summit were:

  •     Immigration compliance to sponsoring foreign nationals
  •     Managing policy exceptions
  •     Shifts in employer’s home sale and temporary living programs
  •     Effective steps in localizing expatriates
  •     Extended Business Travelers
  •     Calculating ROI and predictive analytics

For example, 39-Percent of Summit attendees have a formal global Extended Business Traveler (EBT) program. Up 25-percent year-over-year, a list of best practices and alerts was shared among participants and findings are outlined in the report.

In another example, participants established that the majority of the group (79-Percent) offer a Buyer Value Option (BVO) program presently. However, executives at major corporations attending the Summit voiced plans to or have already made shifts in their home sale program(s) to attract and retain talent to be competitive in the marketplace. Twelve-months since the 2014 Policy Summit, a significant increase in the number of Fortune 500 companies has flipped and now offer a Guaranteed Buyout (GBO) (37-Percent increase from 2014). The 2015 summary reports why and how some of the leading companies have made these major policy changes including transformations to a Direct Reimbursement (DR) from the BVO benefit or vice versa.
