Pittsburgh Technology Startup Combines Forces With Established Player

UpContent has the unique capability to quickly find the right results that will engage audiences. Our layering of shareability and influence filters on top of standard relevance and recency is the key differentiating point of the tool.

Pittsburgh technology-enabled content marketing company, Community Elf, officially launched its content curation tool app, UpContent, on March 11th. The UpContent app is available through Hootsuite, the world’s most widely used social relationship platform with over 11 million global users. UpContent is a unique curation tool that focuses on enabling marketers and thought leaders to lead, power and maintain intelligent, interesting conversations. The tool features smart content gathering and advanced, proprietary filtering to deliver relevant, shareable, and influential results.

“UpContent has the unique capability to quickly find the right results that will engage audiences. Our layering of shareability and influence filters on top of standard relevance and recency is the key differentiating point of the tool,” Community Elf CEO Scott Rogerson said. “Most search engines return any relevant result, regardless of whether the content can incite conversation between one’s physical and digital social network. UpContent gathers news, blogs, social media posts, videos and other types of media relevant to the topic at-hand, and then filters those results by their recency, relevance, level of influence, and shareability. The result is ultra-targeted content that you want to use.”

After testing UpContent internally for 20 months as part of their content marketing, social publishing and engagement execution offerings, Community Elf approached Hootsuite about including the UpContent technology in their application directory to provide Hootsuite users a richer user experience. “We feel it is a natural fit. Hootsuite finds themselves at the center of social media conversations, and integrating UpContent into the tool enhances their content curation offerings in a way that will save their users time by mirroring the requirements previously applied manually when searching the web,” Rogerson said.

Users that sign up for UpContent's free plan during March will get a topic added to their account for life. Additional topic packages designed to fit a variety of business and personal needs will be available in April; a website application on UpContent.com will be launched later this spring.
