Hawaii Big Island Restaurant Chef Named One of the Best in America for Second Time

Hawaii’s Blue Dragon Restaurant's chef and general manager Noah Hester was named one of the country’s top culinary talents, and only one of only fifteen chefs in Hawaii, for the second time. This prestigious honor by Best Chefs America recognizes the most brilliant cooks in the country.

The Blue Dragon Restaurant, north of Kailua-Kona on the Big Island of Hawaii, winner of numerous dining awards, has recently received another top accolade.

Noah Hester, the Blue Dragon’s head chef and general manager, was recently named one of the country’s top culinary talents for the second time by Best Chefs America. This prestigious honor recognizes the most brilliant cooks in the country.

“What makes this a very special award for me is that the chefs were nominated by fellow chefs from across the country,” said Hester in a recent interview. “I am honored to be one of only fifteen chefs in the State of Hawaii to receive this award,” he continued.

Best Chefs America’s analysts conducted over 5,000 confidential telephone interviews. The interviews consisted of a series of proprietary questions to gather data. Chefs across the U.S were asked the same questions to find out who they thought were the best in the business. Those earning the highest scores among their peers in their region were included in the guide.

“Chef Noah is a celebrity chef in Hawaii,” said Delphina Dorrance, co-owner of the Blue Dragon restaurant. “For more than 7 years, Noah has helped the Blue Dragon provide fabulous service, quality and festive cuisine,” she continued. “Noah constantly amazes us with his dedication to the Blue Dragon. His enthusiasm and attention to detail proves that he loves what he does and that he deserves this recognition,” said co-owner Bennett Dorrance.

The Blue Dragon was also recently named one of the Top 100 Restaurants in America and Top 10 Restaurants in Hawaii for Outdoor Dining in 2014, by Open Table. This coveted award list restaurants that offer unique cuisine, stunning views, and above all, fabulous outdoor dining experiences.
