PowerTest 2015 Rocks Nashville in Five Energy-Filled Days of Learning and Networking
Portage, Michigan (PRWEB) March 18, 2015 -- Every year, the nation’s leading electrical maintenance and safety professionals converge on the annual PowerTest event for in-depth technical presentations, great networking opportunities, and exposure to the industry’s latest technologies and services — and PowerTest 2015 did not disappoint.
Held March 2-6, 2016, at the Renaissance Nashville Hotel in Nashville, Tennessee, the InterNational Electrical Testing Association’s (NETA) premier electrical maintenance and safety event welcomed more than 450 attendees, presenters, exhibitors, and sponsors to another record-breaking year at PowerTest.
Attendees immersed themselves in several full days of learning, which included more than 45 technical presentations and educational seminars — covering everything from electrical commissioning, electrical safety, and equipment, to transformers, circuit breakers, relays, and reliability.
Participants were encouraged to download the PowerTest 2015 Mobile App, sponsored by Shermco Industries, to help them plan ahead and navigate while at the conference. Attendees appreciated the opportunity to tailor their own learning experience by previewing abstracts for each session, and later, providing instant feedback by rating each speaker. The results of these surveys were then used to select the award winners for each technical track on Monday.
During the PowerTest Trade Show, attendees toured over 100 exhibits and learned about the industry’s latest technologies, services, and products. The NETA Corporate Alliance Partners were featured at the Spotlight Stage where they offered industry insights and best practices. Exhibit-goers were also treated to door prizes, including one NETA-sponsored $500 cash prize accompanied by a set of the ANSI/NETA standards and two Microsoft Surface Pros™.
PowerTest is a place to learn, but it is also a place to connect with peers and industry experts. Monday night, March 2, 2015, Hospitality Suites featured interactive games, live music, and plenty of the delicious dining options. On Tuesday evening, attendees out en masse at the PowerBash reception, PowerTest’s transitional celebration between the first two days of intense conference sessions and an additional three days of educational seminars. Always a popular mid-week break, PowerBash 2015 once again featured awards for technical presentations, Trade Show exhibits, and Hospitality Suites.
Among PowerTest 2015’s most prestigious recognitions were those presented to two individuals. The 2015 Diane Hageman Outstanding Achievement Award was presented to Lorne Gara, Technical Manager for Orbis Engineering. The 2015 Alliance Recognition Award was presented to Karl Zimmerman, Regional Technical Manager with Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories.
Wrapping up the final three days of seminars was the Doble Laboratory Seminar, hosted by NETA Alliance Partner Doble Engineering. New to PowerTest, this interactive laboratory taught attendees about interpreting laboratory results to detect and identify problems within electrical apparatus and included case studies illustrating common problems found in the field.
NETA show organizers ended the week confident that they had met their recurring goal of exceeding expectations based upon the previous year’s event. NETA recognizes the invaluable support of its NETA Accredited Companies, NETA Certified Technicians, PowerTest Sponsors, NETA Corporate Alliance Partners, and NETA Alliance Partners, and the many others who attended and supported this year’s conference, making it the best PowerTest yet.
