Cybrary’s New Educational Training Platform to Help Bring IT and Cyber Security Curriculum to Classrooms Everywhere
Greenbelt, Maryland (PRWEB) March 18, 2015 -- In response to demands from K-12, undergraduate, and graduate-level educators, Cybrary, the world’s first and only no-cost IT and cyber security MOOC today announced the availability of its educational training platform designed to help educators plan, manage, and monitor IT and cyber security curriculum.
“We recognized a need to start teaching IT and cyber security training programs earlier in the education cycle, while at the same time, high schools and colleges were asking us if there was a way we could set up a management portal for them to roll our classes out to their students,” said Ralph P. Sita, Jr., co-founder of Cybrary. “We have interest from schools wanting to integrate our free IT and cyber security classes into regular class work, afterschool groups, clubs, and summer learning. Schools at all levels are thirsty for this content, which before Cybrary, was costing them as much as $5,000 per enrollment.”
With Cybrary’s new education training platform, educators can prepare a list of classes or topics for students to learn through their school’s own unique portal. Schools can then list particular teachers or professors and each can list out training objectives by class or groups. Educators can generate reports on which students have completed which lessons within the objectives. The service is available at no charge, and additional services beyond the management, such as certificates of completion, skills assessments, and an end-user security awareness course, are available.
Since launching in January, Cybrary has reached nearly 50,000 users. The company’s mission is to provide tuition-free access to high-quality technical training to anyone, anywhere, at any skill level. According to Sita, it is nearly impossible for most people to pursue a passion of learning about IT and cyber security because of the outrageous costs associated with and lack of availability of quality training.
“By eliminating financial barriers to IT and cyber security training, anyone can learn from and engage with the IT community. We’re confident our approach will ultimately reshape IT and cyber security training and welcome new minds into the profession, leading to a brighter future for the industry as a whole,” said Sita.
