Atlas RFID’s Jovix™ Solution Selected by Methanol Complex in Beaumont, Texas, for Materials Management

Atlas RFID Solutions, the world leader in comprehensive field mobility and Auto-ID solutions for industrial construction, today announced Orascom E&C USA (OEC) has selected Jovix™ as their material control system for the $1 billion-plus Natgasoline methanol complex in Beaumont, Texas. This represents the largest methanol production plant in the United States to date. Construction is scheduled to begin in November of 2015, with the Jovix™ implementation expected to go live in May as materials begin to arrive on-site.

The Natgasoline project is comprised of a complex supply chain that includes multiple fabricators, laydown yards, and receiving ports. The Jovix™ solution will manage incoming shipments, material receiving, material requests, storage, material location, and issuing on the project site and the remote laydown yards. The solution includes a combination of server and mobile device software, rugged barcodes, rugged field tablets, and supporting professional services.

J.H. (John) Gorski, OEC’s Manager of Materials and Logistics for the Natgasoline project states, “The Jovix™ system was selected on the basis that it provided a complete material management tool tailored to manage materials on our project at the best value.”

The first phase of the project will use natural gas as a source to produce methanol. The second phase will use methanol to produce fuel. Natgasoline will create work for thousands of construction workers and over 200 permanent positions when the facility is fully operational.

Atlas RFID Solutions CEO, Robert Fuqua, adds, “Atlas is honored to be selected for this project, to help OEC realize more efficiencies in their processes and making every dollar count. OEC will see a reduction in time spent locating material, wasted labor costs, field re-procurement costs, and ultimately schedule risk. It’s all about having the right piece of material at the right time, and being able to make better decisions in real-time that affect the entire project.”

The Atlas team will be an ongoing resource for the duration of the multi-year project, working closely with both client and contractor stakeholders to ensure positive ROI and value-added service. To find out more about the Jovix™ solution, visit http://www.atlasrfid.com.
