One Direction Fans Will Get 'Last First Kiss' at Madame Tussauds
San Francisco, California (PRWEB) March 18, 2015 -- Just in time for Spring Break, and for the last time on the West Coast, Madame Tussauds San Francisco is unveiling a modern look for wax figures of teen sensation pop group, One Direction.
Bay Area One Direction fans will have their first chance to get up-close-and-personal with the figures at the unveiling, set to take place from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 21st in Ghirardelli Marketplace, located at 900 North Point St #52, San Francisco.
Madame Tussauds San Francisco's artists have updated the figures to look like the mature hit makers they are today. The musicians are sitting casually together on a school-style double bench which allows fans to snap intimate selfies.
Madame Tussauds San Francisco has partnered with Live Nation to giveaway concert tickets for One Direction’s sold-out concert set for July 11th at Levi’s Stadium. Fans traveling to the attraction from now until June 14th are eligible to enter for a chance to win a pair of tickets to the concert when they tag their selfie with the One Direction figures on social media using #1DinSF. In total, Madame Tussauds will give away two dozen stadium tickets, a pair each week, with the final grand prize being a pair of floor tickets.
The pop group is the first boy band to be re-styled to capture a more mature look in Madame Tussauds’ over 200 year old history. Each band member gave two sittings where Madame Tussauds artists were able to take hundreds of precise measurements, examine their skin tone, eye color and matched hair swatches to ensure complete accuracy. The studio team of 40 sculptors, molders, hair stylists, colorists and wardrobe experts worked for more than four months to create the incredibly life-like figures.
“We are thrilled to unveil the re-styling of these unique figures at our San Francisco attraction,” said Wesley Morgan, General Manager for Madame Tussauds San Francisco. “One Direction has become an international pop icon, and we are so excited to share this figure with the fans and bring them closer to meeting One Direction.”
After the last guest gets their first kiss with the figures at the Ghiradelli Marketplace the boys will take a short-term residence in the Madame Tussauds San Francisco attraction from March 23 through June 12th. Madame Tussauds San Francisco is the newest attraction at the historic Fisherman’s Wharf District and provides guests of all ages with a fun and interactive experience as they come face-to-face with wax likenesses of everyone from A-list celebrities and athletes, to politicians and cultural icons from the city and around the world.
