It's (Not) Just Business offers a fun discussion about how to survive and thrive in the stressful world of corporate politics.

Mark Nicholas, author of “It’s (Not) Just Business/The Employee’s Survival Guide” will be signing copies of his book at "{pages} a bookstore" on April 2nd at 7pm. {pages} is located at 904 Manhattan Avenue, Manhattan Beach, CA 90266.

“I’m thrilled to be a part of the {pages} author series,” said Mark. “It’s (Not) Just Business” is designed to get folks engaged in this complex but important area to understand. It's about reducing stress and conflict and having some fun for a change with business politics; and I'm glad to offer an opportunity to have some fun with this subject and offer ideas and tools to overcome those interpersonal challenges we all face on a daily basis.”

Mark will discuss causes of workplace stress and conflict, politics, negotiating and surviving day-to-day inconveniences. “Politics is really neither good nor bad,” explains Mark. “Really it is just how people in groups make decisions. If the decision making process can be embraced, much of the bad behavior and bad feelings can be navigated around and even neutralized.”

About the Author

Mark Nicholas has practiced law in the corporate trenches for more than twenty years. He has worked with major corporations as an attorney, negotiator, compliance professional and privacy officer, and was responsible, among other things, for the oversight of employment and human resource issues, exposed daily the full range of human psychology, group dynamics and politics. Mark embraced the study of human behavior and those interactions that create allegiances and animosities, and he has taught the art and craft of negotiating and speaks regularly at national conferences on estate preparation, crisis management, social media, privacy and regulatory matters.
