EMC EMI Ltd Brings a Fresh approach to the EMC EMI Shielding Industry
Braintree Essex (PRWEB UK) 22 March 2015 -- EMC Shielding specialist John Castle, is launching his new company EMC EMI Ltd. this March. Bringing together his industry knowledge and an instinct for customer service; John explains how EMC EMI brings a fresh, agile and more customer-focused approach to this growing industry... EMC shielding products are unlikely to be one of the first things most lay people would consider when they thought about building a new home, or renovating an office or hospital. But these unassuming and seemingly insignificant products are playing an increasingly vital role in our modern homes and workplaces. They protect us from the potentially harmful effects of electromagnetic fields and radio frequencies, and they protect our electrical devices from harmful interference.
Working out of their new facility in Essex, John and his production management team bring in almost 50 years of experience in supplying and manufacturing EMI (electromagnetic interference), EMC (electromagnetic compatibility), RF (radio frequency) an EMF (electromagnetic field) shielding and environmental sealing components.
Before setting up EMC EMI, John had felt for some time that there was a much better way to serve the needs of customers. "Companies that need these products, need a supplier who is reliable, fast and flexible," says John. "The most important issue for them is lead time." In the fast-moving industry in which his customers operate, they typically would have to wait 4-6 weeks for products to be delivered. "I didn't think that was good enough," says John, "when developing the business plan for EMC EMI, it was essential that I could find a way to get many of our standard products to customers within 7-10 day turnaround."
This fast turnaround is made possible by having the facilities and expertise to produce their own range of products on-site. "Developing our own range, including the production of conductive elastomers which we are currently testing with TRaC Global Ltd (one of the largest independent test houses in the UK). The next stage of the plan, is to have standard material available off-the-shelf to further reduce the lead time and this will make a big difference to the service we can offer." explains John, "We can make products to order on-site and don't have to rely so much on other suppliers; this has really given us an edge in being able to offer an unbeatable lead time for our customers. Also being a small and effective team of 6 people who are multi-skilled in each department, we don't have high overheads, so this enables us to be very competitive on price."
But offering a fast turnaround wasn't the only thing John wanted to do differently. A flexible approach is another cornerstone of the EMC EMI business plan. "I think it is so important to be absolutely focused on the needs of my customers," he states, "it goes without saying that we offer a wide range of quality products, but I wanted to go further than that," he adds, "I'm really pleased we have the machinery and skills to offer customers a bespoke service; adapting existing components or creating new ones if necessary, just to ensure customers get exactly what they need."
This customer-centered approach extends into how the company communicates with their customers "It is so important to me that our customers are informed with any developments while we are dealing with their order. On those rare occasions when there might be a problem or delay, we can let the customer know immediately so we can minimise any disruption to their schedules."
And how does John feel about launching EMC EMI? "Of course I'm a little nervous. The whole operation has been self-funded and I've put a lot of investment into the project to get us where we are now." he admits, "but I'm really excited too. The last few months have been extremely busy, setting up the factory and fine-tuning the business plan, but we have a fantastic talented team of people working here. I feel so positive about EMC EMI and what we can bring to the industry." For further information, visit emcemi.com
