The Smile Emporium, based in Berea, Durban, in the South African province of KwaZulu-Natal, is proud to announce its grand opening with great deals for customers starting on March 26, 2015.

The Smile Emporium is headed by Dr. Sheryl Smithies, Dental Surgeon, who will provide dental and cosmetic services at the center's new location, 109 Musgrave Park.

Patients have until the end of March to book a check-up and receive 10% off all dental services along with a free Digital Smile Analysis and Assessment. This process uses digital photography and design to show people what their teeth would look like if they underwent certain procedures and allows patients to visualize an ideal smile.

Once complete, Dr. Smithies then creates a treatment plan designed to help give her patients the smile they’ve always wanted. This treatment plan incorporates certain dental services offered at The Smile Emporium. These services include: dental implants, crowns and veneers, as well as laser teeth whitening and ClearPath invisible braces.

For patients who would like, or are in need of, more extensive dental work, The Smile Emporium is also offering 10% off any Smile Makeover Plan.

Additional services offered at The Smile Emporium include anti-wrinkle injections, such as Botox® and filler treatments including Juvederm, the latter of which are used for deeper-set lines.

Dr. Smithies is pleased to expand her private practice and give The Smile Emporium a new home. Dr. Smithies received her dental degree in 2004 from the University of Pretoria, after which she was sent to do her compulsory Community Service in the rural area of Mkuze in Northern Zululand. Following her service, she joined Dr Piet Smith in his private practice in Durban, KZN. After five extremely educational years with him she left and decided pursue her dream of starting her own practice.

"I needed to start following my dreams and start creating my own personal touch of treatment planning; that’s when I started my own practice in 2011," Dr. Smithies said. "Ever since then, we've been growing and adding more aesthetic types of treatments to our repertoire to help our growing body of patients."

Why did she decide to add cosmetic procedures to The Smile Emporium's services? As Dr. Smithies explained, she realized that dental procedures and facial aesthetic treatments go hand in hand, which has led to what The Smile Emporium offers today.

"Dentistry is such an integral part of an aging face," she said. "Your teeth can really reveal your real age even if you've had a facelift.

"In order to perfect my art of smile design, I realized that as some people get older, lip support decreases and the face starts to sag. Fillers can help bring the youthful appearance back."

Dr. Smithies, after reaching this conclusion, started out by looking into fillers but later added Botox® and other treatments along the way because they work so well together.

The new office for The Smile Emporium is centrally located in town. The highway runs right past the building, making it easy for patients to get to.

The office waiting room also received a makeover to make it more relaxing and inviting for new patients.

Dr. Smithies hopes that new patients will take advantage of the new office's location and the staff members who are there to help them. Her team includes two more dentists and an oral hygienist.

"The office offers wonderful treatments which everyone should have a chance to have done at some point in their lives," Dr. Smithies said. "Having these grand opening deals may give people the chance and opportunity they needed to finally have these procedures done."

As for her long-term goals, Dr. Smithies said that she wants to continue growing her business and welcoming more new patients into the fold. "I love to help people find the quality and comfort in dentistry that they're looking for and deserve in the most calm of settings."
