Intercom Federal Systems Hires 100th Full-Time Employee
LEESBURG, VA (PRWEB) March 24, 2015 -- Intercom Federal Systems Corporation today announced that it has hired its 100th full-time employee, marking a highly successful period of growth over the last year. This growth exceeds corporate expectations by a wide margin, and is especially significant given the static nature of today’s government services marketplace.
Thongthai Nguyen, an experienced senior engineer who joined the firm today, also became the company’s 125th full-time billable engineer (FTE). In addition to its employees, Intercom also employs 25 additional sub-contractors and consultants.
“This is a milestone we are very proud of” said Randy Coppersmith, the Chairman & CEO of the parent corporation, Intercom Communications Corporation. “Our goal has been for Intercom Federal to become a $20 million run-rate business, with over 100 billable engineers. We’ve now surpassed both goals, so to us it’s a special achievement.
“It’s taken a lot of hard work and dedication by our entire team, but we could not have achieved this modicum of success without the great support of our customers and teaming partners. To every one of them, we say thank you,” said Coppersmith.
Intercom Communications Corporation has grown from 13 to 133 people since 2003. That’s a 10.2x overall growth factor in 12 years. The company remains focused on providing world-class IT Services to the US Federal Government with a focus on the Foreign Service, National Security and the Intel communities.
“Here’s the cool part - we did it organically, with existing working capital. No, borrowing - zero debt. Perhaps that makes us a little old-fashioned, but profitable, sustainable growth remains the hallmark of a strong company” said Michael Strich, President of Intercom Federal Systems. “Despite these uncertain economic times, Intercom continues to flourish. And with over seven years of long-term contractual backlog, we look to continue our upward progress in the future.”
At 133 people in the company today, Intercom still remains a small business. “Every person in our company should take special pride in today’s announcement” said Coppersmith. “We look forward to sustaining our momentum, and enjoying more growth in the near future.”
