In-store tablet experts, Bouncepad, are redefining how retail service moves with the launch of Luna, a smart dock ‘n’ charge system for tablets.
From iPad POS to handheld assisted selling tools, tablets are taking on many forms in today’s retail environments. Bouncepad’s multitasking tablet enclosure lets retailers use one device for many service scenarios, switching from secure self-service point to shop floor selling tool with an effortless tap of an RFID fob.
The experience led store design trend has set service free from the sales counter but legacy fixed hardware has made it tough for retailers to keep pace. Luna is designed to complement tablet-based ‘assisted selling’ platforms, such as Apple & IBM’s Sales Assist, which place live product information, inventory and customer history in the hands of staff as they move around the store.
With its slim-line mobile design, Luna’s redefines how retail associates approach customers, enabling personalized, on-the-spot service. The system features a discreet contact charging dock to display and secure tablets. When a customer needs help, associates simply tap and go, using their RFID fob. Docks can be dotted throughout the store enabling quick and easy access.
Integrated Bluetooth beacons allow a dynamic relationship between dock locations and on screen content, meaning Luna will prompt the tablet to launch a food and drink-pairing app when docked in the wine aisle, for example.
“Retailers understand that a holistic approach is imperative to the in-store, customer experience,” said Tobi Schneidler, CEO of Bouncepad. “Luna lets sales staff move confidently around the store, offering good old fashioned face-to-face service while equipped with unprecedented access to online channels. ”
Happy Socks, the cult Swedish accessory brand, was one of the first retailers to trial the system in its Covent Garden location in London. Luna allowed store iPads to do double-duty, serving as both handheld point of sale devices and secure digital display for content, including a video promo for their new Snoop Dog designed range. “With Luna, we were able to reimagine our entire in-store environment, and change how we approach checkout, customer service, digital signage and even sales,” stated Chris Stratos of Happy Socks UK.
Bouncepad will be debuting Luna at GlobalShop, the world’s largest retail exhibition in Las Vegas March 24-26th. The in-store tablet specialists, who work with the likes of Adidas, Tommy Hilfiger and Verizon, will be setting up an omni-channel boutique as part of the prestigious Centerpiece Exhibit.
Bouncepad, a leading provider of beautiful and secure enclosures, transforms tablets into robust, digital touch points for organizations across the education, healthcare, hospitality, leisure and retail sectors, among others. The company has shipped its products to more than 60 countries worldwide, working on major deployments for brands including Adidas, McDonald’s, Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hilfiger and Virgin.
