Beer for Trash? Community Organizes Novel Beach Grooming Activity
(PRWEB) March 20, 2015 -- Manuel Antonio, home to the luxury bungalows and villas of Tulemar Resort, has long been a destination for world travelers, offering world renowned beaches and lush jungles with a bio-diversity that cannot be experienced anywhere else. With the high volume of visitors from December through March, comes the unfortunate reality of an accumulation of beach trash.
The Manuel Antonio Brewing Company, however, has again taken initiative to return the internationally revered Manuel Antonio beach back to its pristine self this April with its 2nd annual Pounds for Pints to be held on April 5th. Tulemar Resort, finds the event to be the perfect way to bring the community together and keep one of Manuel Antonio's most admired sights the way it should be—beautiful.
Tulemar spokesperson, Dave Houck summed up the sentiment, saying, “With the hustle and bustle of providing travelers a great experience, by April the beach usually needs some grooming. This event is perfect for the community to blow off some steam with unique Costa Rican craft beer and make sure Manuel Antonio beach continues to be an amazing place for people to come to.”
With each full bag of trash turned in, is a glass of delicious craft beer for pick up participants. The event this year is being sponsored by nearby breweries, Perro Vida Brewing Company, and Costa Rica's Craft Brewing Company, which is located in San Jose. Manuel Antonio Brewing Company and the two companies will all be offering different types of beers to keep the participants refreshed and having fun in the April heat.
While Tulemar Resort has a secluded beach to offer its guests, both the staff and management believe that keeping its local beach clean is extremely important, as they make it a point to support eco-conscious causes in the community that will keep Manuel Antonio an ideal place to live and visit. “Manuel Antonio is a paradise, and we intend to keep it that way. I can't say how proud we are to have companies like Manuel Antonio Brewing Company who create events like this to lead that charge. I hope this event continues to be an annual day of fun and clean-up for years to come.”
And the craft-brewery company hopes so too, as they hope to open up a fully functioning brewery and taproom by the end of 2015 to showcase their Costa Rican craft beer to visitors and locals alike.
The Pounds for Pints event begins at 10 A.M. on Sunday, April 5th, continuing until the trash is picked up and the beer runs out. There will be musical entertainment provided, along with the cold craft beer, and iced tea and soda for children participants.
