Alvernia University Adds Faculty to their Masters in Organizational Leadership Program

Travis Berger, an assistant professor of business at Alvernia University and the founder and coordinator of the Masters in Organizational Leadership (MOL) program announced the newest members of the MOL program’s faculty.

“In keeping with the MOL program’s multidisciplinary approach, these individuals have an impressive mix of professional and academic accomplishments in a wide variety of disciplines,” said Berger.

Elizabeth Matteo, Ph.D. is an associate professor of psychology at Alvernia and she joins professor Berger as the two full-time professors of the MOL faculty team. Dr. Matteo’s depth of knowledge in social psychology is critical for understanding organizational behavior, especially concerning teams and group dynamics. She’ll share that expertise when teaching MOL 570: Followership, Groups and Teams.

The other MOL faculty members and the courses they’ll teach are:

  • Kris Cravey, Ph.D. will teach MOL 610: Leadership Development II and MOL 620: Organization Theory. He’ll tap into his experience as a vice president of professional and technical services for Day & Zimmermann along with his doctorate degree in leadership, to teach these courses.
  • Matt Mayer will teach MOL 530: Critical Thinking, utilizing his accomplishments as a U.S. Veteran, Army Officer and practicing attorney.
  • Tricia Reese will teach MOL 630: Organizational Change. She’s a business owner with a master’s degree in organizational dynamics from the University of Pennsylvania.
  • Amber L. Stephenson, Ph.D., MPH will teach MOL 510: Social Theory and MOL 550: Research Methods. She’ll bring her proven ability to demonstrate how social theory applies to professional life into the classroom.

About the Masters in Organizational Leadership program
This selective program is offered in a small cohort model to promote collaboration and professional growth. Classes are offered in the evenings at Alvernia’s main campus in Reading, and are delivered in traditional, blended and online formats. Students who enroll in the fall cohort should graduate in fewer than two years.
