To meet the performance and material content requirements of today’s health and sustainable building initiatives, Mermet USA, the market leader in high-performance Sun Control Textiles™, introduces GreenScreen® Reflect™. One hundred percent PVC-free and made from naturally abundant resources such as glass and aluminum, the shade fabric reflects up to 72 percent of solar radiation for heat control.
GreenScreen Reflect is the next evolution in Mermet’s portfolio of environmentally-responsible GreenScreen fabrics, which includes: GreenScreen Revive® and GreenScreen® Evolve™. The fiberglass yarn in GreenScreen Reflect provides mechanical resistance and dimensional stability, while its aluminum backing offers enhanced solar protection for heat management. The fabric helps control light and conserves energy, contributing to optimized indoor environmental quality for comfort, health, productivity and sustainability.
Features accentuating these benefits include:
- 100 percent PVC-free, fiberglass yarn
- VOC free – GREENGUARD Gold Certified
- Halogen free
- Reflects up to 72 percent of solar radiation for heat control
- Blocks up to 96 percent of all visible light for optical comfort
Available in seven colors, GreenScreen Reflect can enhance the aesthetics of virtually any interior application. The product’s lightweight construction allows the overall dimension of the finished roller shade (tube and fabric) to fit discreetly in small or large windows and enhance the aesthetics of the space. GreenScreen Reflect is available in a 5 percent openness and basket weave construction for excellent views to the outside.
"Daylighting, energy use and utility savings continue to be critical concerns for architects and designers when modeling a project’s design and layout. And, how they achieve energy performance requirements while delivering an aesthetically pleasing environment can be the challenge,” says Greg Mullet, National Sales and Marketing Manager for Mermet. “With fabrics like GreenScreen Reflect, Mermet is addressing not only functional and aesthetic needs, but also health and safety requirements, which remain significant in the specification process.”
GreenScreen Reflect is GREENGUARD Gold certified and has been tested to meet globally recognized efficiency standards including ASTM, NFPA and California U.S. Title 19. In addition, the fabric is RoHS and OEKO-TEX® certified demonstrating that it has been tested for harmful substances and is in compliance with the guidelines of a restricted substances list (RSL).
