Sit ‘n Sleep and Tempur-Pedic Donate 75 Mattresses to Jenesse Center
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) March 26, 2015 -- Iconic Southern California mattress retailer Sit ‘n Sleep, along with Tempur-Pedic, the most highly recommended bed in America, today announced the joint donation of 75 mattresses to Jenesse Center, Inc., a Los Angeles domestic violence intervention program and shelter. The donation is to commemorate Jenesse’s 35-year anniversary of service to the Southern Los Angeles community and will benefit adults and children seeking support and housing to assist in their crisis situations. The generous gift will replace the shelter’s old worn out beds, some of which are more than a decade old, and provide extra comfort, support, and a good night’s sleep to the families who rely on Jenesse Center’s housing.

Jenesse Center aims to prevent and end the cycles of domestic violence through education, research, resources, and advocacy provided to individuals and families across the community. The center relies on donations and support from community members like Sit ‘n Sleep. The donation was presented to the center by Sit ‘n Sleep’s CEO at a ceremony on March 26 at 10:00am. The event was attended by Jenesse Center CEO Karen Earl, board members, supporters, recipients of the shelter’s assistance programs, Sit ‘n Sleep CEO Larry Miller, management, and employees.

The donated mattresses will be used in the center’s emergency and transitional shelter facilities across Southern California. On average, emergency housing provides one month of residence, while transitional housing provides up to two years of residence for families. Other services provided by Jenesse Center include a domestic violence crisis hotline, case management, educational programs, health programs, counseling, legal services, youth enrichment programs, after school programs, summer camp, transportation, and more.
