Christians for Biblical Equality has been awarded a 3-year grant from the Imago Dei Fund to expand egalitarian work around the world

Christians for Biblical Equality (CBE) has been awarded a three year grant from the Imago Dei Fund (IDF). The Imago Dei Fund was established in 2009, and provides grants and support to a wide range of organizations working to create a more just world. IDF’s continued partnership with CBE allows CBE to expand its efforts to serve women and girls not just in the United States but around the world.

This grant builds on a previous 3-year grant awarded to CBE by IDF. From 2012-2014, IDF funded projects that enabled CBE to establish partnerships with organizations working around the world to empower women and girls and to eradicate poverty and gender-based violence. The 2015-2017 grant provides $100,000 each year (2015, 2016, and 2017) to build upon this foundation, growing global momentum for gender equality.

CBE will build on these relationships by providing additional resources, training, and education to its partners, equipping them to do more to empower women and girls. The funds will also support a number of projects designed to develop CBE’s global work, among them a 2016 conference in South Africa, an egalitarian curriculum for the Mother’s Union, marriage curriculum, youth curriculum, and conference scholarships for leaders in the Global South.

“I could not be more pleased and thankful to partner with IDF to expand CBE’s global momentum,” said CBE’s president, Dr. Mimi Haddad. “Receiving these funds is a confirmation that CBE stands with donor activists like IDF in growing global partnerships, resources, and events that clarify and emphasize Scripture’s support for the equal agency of women alongside men. It is exciting to partner with egalitarians around the world as we work toward our mutual goal of freeing women to serve God without gender-based restrictions.”

In its effort to advance a biblical foundation for gift-based rather than gender-based ministry and service, CBE sponsors annual conferences, facilitates local chapters, hosts an online bookstore, and publishes two award-winning journals.
