A platform built on the principle of open government empowers public institutions to take advantage of the coming wave of Big Data to better serve their constituents.

FreeBalance unveiled the future of open government at CeBIT 2015 with the launch of Version 8 of the FreeBalance Accountability Suite. This next chapter in the most advanced public financial management solution positions FreeBalance at the forefront of the industry with the only cloud native government platform.

Version 8 represents the evolution of the FreeBalance Accountability Suite and is the culmination of a comprehensive customer-centric development process. Embracing a fully native cloud architecture is an extension of the FreeBalance design principles of open systems and open government.

“A cloud native platform allows government the flexibility to deploy their public financial management solution in whichever configuration they like. This means not being locked into expensive proprietary hardware,” said Manuel Pietra, President & CEO. “A platform built on the principle of open government empowers public institutions to take advantage of the coming wave of Big Data to better serve their constituents.”

Another major leap forward for Version 8 is speed. While the FreeBalance Accountability Suite has long been among the fastest to implement, Version 8 brings the focus on speed to the next level and can be deployed faster than any other public financial management solution. Every day of deployment time saved represents millions in saved public funds.

Version 8 was officially unveiled at CeBIT 2015 by Doug Hadden, Executive Vice President, Strategy & Innovation at his presentation Overcoming Political Resistance to Government Transparency and Accountability. “The FreeBalance Accountability Suite Version 8 is a natural progression from Version 7,” said Hadden. “The extensible design means a host of new features are available to Version 7 users with a simple 1-click upgrade.”
