ColoGuard, one of New York City’s top colocation providers, today announced the completion of a major acquisition, expanding its Brooklyn data center footprint from 20,000 to 50,000 square feet.

The acquired facility is 30,000 square feet, with 25,250 square feet of raised floor space, and the remainder of private suites. After the acquisition, ColoGuard will have a total of three generators, two offering N+2 power, with an additional generator on standby for emergencies. Clients will have access to a new state of the art meet-me-room. With this acquisition multiple new carriers have been added to its already diverse array of providers, including, GTT, Time Warner, Atlantic Metro, Verizon Business, Cogent, AT&T and Verizon Core, bringing the total carrier count to fourteen.

“We built ColoGuard from the ground up, and this expansion is part of our continuing strategy to meet and exceed the needs of our growing enterprise clients, while retaining options for our small business sector” explained ColoGuard’s CEO, Ray Sidler. “Clients at the acquired facility will experience no disruption to their existing services, and can expect a seamless transition with expanded managed services now available. Our existing customers can also expect the same dedication to service they have had since 2003, with added redundancy and network density.”

Sidler emphasizes that ColoGuard is one of few data centers in New York with roof rights, and have earned a positive reputation for their excellent customer service and competitive prices. The data center has also withstood the detrimental force of Hurricane Sandy, remained fully operational and offered disaster recovery services to surrounding businesses.

The official transfer of ownership has taken place on April 1, 2015 making ColoGuard the largest telco facility in Brooklyn, N.Y. To celebrate the acquisition, ColoGuard is running a promotion to waive the first month and all setup fees on any colocation package in its new facility for the month of May 2015.
