Benzer Pharmacy Hits the Streets in the Fight Against AIDS
Orlando, FL (PRWEB) March 28, 2015 -- Today, Benzer Pharmacy is hitting the streets in the fight against AIDS. The AIDS Walk Orlando 2015 is aimed at raising hope and helping thousands of men, women, and children living with HIV/AIDS in the Central Florida area.
Benzer Pharmacy, one of the sponsors for the event, has joined the Hope and Help Center’s life saving program to raise funds for the walk. All money raised goes to client-centered services, which cover the full continuum from HIV prevention to treatment.
Benzer Pharmacy offers specialized pharmacy care for patients diagnosed with chronic illnesses such as Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) among others.
“If you are managing serious health conditions, you may require specialty medications. It is a complex process to fill a specialty medication. At Benzer Pharmacy, we streamline the complex path,” says Lindsay Wall, Director of Compounding Services at Benzer Pharmacy.
The Hope and Help Center has continued to provide the community with vital services such as HIV testing, youth outreach and prevention, peer mentoring, medical case management, food pantry, insurance and pharmacy coverage and much more.
The Hope and Help Center states that, in Florida, 15 percent of all new HIV infections reported among females in 2012 were under the age of 25. Of those persons living with HIV in Florida, 49 percent are black, 29 percent are white and 20 percent are Hispanic. Men represent 70 percent of the cases. Persons over the age of 45 years represent 60 percent.
Hope and Help Center is the largest AIDS Service Organization in Central Florida, with eight locations throughout Seminole, Lake, Orange and Osceola counties. Their mission is to save lives by treating and preventing the spread of HIV/AIDS in Central Florida.
