360Heros Providing Virtual Reality 360 Video Content, Serving as Tech Partner for the Comcast NBCUniversal Hackathon

360Heros Inc., a company specializing in complete VR 360 video workflow solutions, will serve as a tech partner for the Comcast NBCUniversal Hackathon. 360Heros' primary role will be providing interactive 360 content filmed exclusively for the hackathon which hackers will be challenged to present in an innovative fashion.

360Heros Inc., a company specializing in complete VR 360 video workflow solutions, will serve as a tech partner for the Comcast NBCUniversal Hackathon. 360Heros' primary role will be providing interactive 360 content filmed exclusively for the hackathon. With support from 360Heros, teams of hackers will be tasked with developing new ways to present immersive content.

Titled “Smart, Dynamic, Immersive Entertainment Driven by Technology,” this event will be the third Comcast NBCUniversal hackathon. The hackathon will challenge participants to use hardware, software and content to explore immersive entertainment for Universal Parks & Resorts, Telemundo NBC Universo and Golf Channel’s GolfNow.

During the event, 360Heros will be showing attendees their end-to-end workflow solutions for 360 video and how they can be used in the market place. The 360Heros team will also be providing tech support throughout the event for the developer teams and offering insight in the presentation and distribution of VR 360 content.

360Heros CEO Michael Kintner will be serving as a designated technical expert on a webinar panel for registered attendees in the lead up to the hackathon. In regard to participating in the hackathon, Kintner stated: "I'm excited for the opportunity to work with creative minds in the VR/360 space and to see the innovative solutions this competition produces."

Other notable hackathon tech partners in the virtual reality/360 space include Unity, Intel and Microsoft. With each company contributing elements of their respective technology, hackers will have a 24 hour period to utilize this technology to compete in the various challenges.

Produced by the NBCUniversal Media Labs team, this third in a series of Comcast NBCUniversal Hackathons comes on the heels of the media and technology company’s recent events in New York and Universal City, which resulted in product incubations and the hiring of developers.
