What's New for Spring and Summer 2015 in Annapolis and the Chesapeake Bay
ANNAPOLIS, MD (PRWEB) April 01, 2015 -- There's a lot that's new in Annapolis and Anne Arundel County, Maryland this spring and summer. To make it easy for area residents and vacationers to be in the know, the Annapolis & Anne Arundel County Conference and Visitors Bureau (AAACCVB) has compiled a sampling of some of the latest attractions and experiences that beckon travelers in the months ahead.
NaptownLocals.com – The AAACCVB wants to make it easier for visitors to explore Annapolis like a local. In spring 2015, the organization will launch a new, independent website, NaptownLocals.com. Powered by the insights, commentary and recommendations of local bloggers, the new website will put inquiring visitors quickly in the know. In addition to providing the latest information on events, attractions, and happenings, the site will introduce viewers to Annapolis’ hidden gems, local traditions and insider favorites.
While the AAACCVB includes blogs on its VisitAnnapolis.org website, the new NaptownLocals.com site will give busy travelers more immediate access to the inside scoops on Annapolis.
Once individuals have mined the NaptownLocals.com site for information, they’ll be just a click away from accessing the AAACCVB’s VisitAnnapolis.org, WeddingsInAnnapolis.com, MeetInAnnapolis.com and TheHotelsAtBWI.com websites.
James Brice House – The State of Maryland purchased the house from the International Masonry Institute in December 2014 and asked Historic Annapolis, Inc. to manage, preserve and share the national treasure built 1767-1773. The five-part Georgian mansion is considered to be one of the top ten houses from Colonial America because of its architectural importance. Historic Annapolis is completing a plan for interpretation and will begin opening the building to the public for the first time in the home’s history during Maryland Day (March 20-22). The house will be open free of charge for hands-on activities during the weekend celebration, and docents will be on site to provide the history of the building. The Brice House is available for rental for special events, weddings and corporate gatherings. http://www.annapolis.org, 410-267-7619.
Preserve Restaurant is slated to open at 164 Main Street in Annapolis in April 2015. Owners Jeremy and Michelle Hoffman will be using sustainable and local products at their casual American restaurant. Pickling, preserving and fermenting will be a passion and focus on the menu, which will continually evolve in response to the season. The husband and wife are two Culinary Institute of America graduates who have worked at some of the finest restaurants on the east coast. They want their restaurant to be known as a restaurant with a conscience. They will use cleaners that are eco-friendly and source recycled materials for towels, toilet tissue, to-go containers and more. They will not serve products containing high fructose corn syrup, MSG or any other highly processed food products. http://preserve-eats.com/.
