Spokeo Announces 2015 Search Angel Award Nominations at the 36th American Adoption Congress International Annual Conference
PASADENA, Calif. (PRWEB) March 26, 2015 -- Spokeo, the leading people search service has launched the call for 2015 Spokeo Search Angel Award nominations. For the third year in a row, the program is recognizing and rewarding the Search Angels who donate their time, resources and support to help adult adoptees and others search for, and reunite with their birth families.
In addition to the call for nominees, Spokeo announced that the winners of the 2014 Spokeo Search Angel Awards will be on a panel at the American Adoption Congress 36th International Annual Conference. The “Ask an Angel” panel will be an open forum for conference attendees to ask the angels about their research, work, success stories and more.
“Spokeo is dedicated to helping individuals find and connect with their loved ones,” said Vanessa Waite, director of communications, Spokeo. “We started the Spokeo Search Angel Awards three years ago and have seen increased participation each year. This year is unique because, for the first time, Spokeo will open the 2015 Spokeo Search Angel Award nominations at the American Adoption Congress International Annual Conference.”
Anyone in the U.S. can nominate individuals who have volunteered their time to this cause at http://www.SpokeoAngels.com until Friday, April 10. Only those who donate their searching services without receiving compensation are eligible. Up to five winners will receive:
• a cash grant to help counterbalance the personal costs they experience while searching
• a one-year membership to Spokeo
• an all-expense paid trip to the 2016 American Adoption Congress International Annual Conference
• the opportunity to offer reunion sponsorships to families who are matched by the angels during their time as an award winner (travel costs covered by Spokeo)
An advisory committee comprised of leaders in the adoption, foster care and search communities will provide program guidance, review nominations and select the Spokeo Search Angel Award winners. Advisory committee bios can be found at: http://spokeoangels.com/partners/#teambios.
Spokeo is also proud to partner with the Mixed Roots Foundation (http://www.mixedrootsfoundation.org), a nonprofit organization that leverages philanthropy and grassroots fundraising to provide post-adoption resources for adoptees and their families, to host the Spokeo Search Angel Fund, which distributes the winners’ cash grants and funds other adoptee search endeavors.
