Samadi Robotics Foundation Launches Website; Will Prostate Cancer Get the Attention it Deserves?
New York, New York (PRWEB) March 26, 2015 -- Backed by the Chairman of Urology, Chief of Robotic Surgery at Lenox Hill Hospital, Dr. David Samadi and his team launched a new website (http://www.samadifoundation.org) for The Samadi Robotics Foundation to help support research for prostate cancer and provide financial aid for those in need. Prostate cancer is to men what breast cancer is to women as 1 in 7 men are diagnosed with prostate cancer each year with a new case being developed every 2.3 minutes. Through various events, fundraisers, and educational workshops, The Samadi Robotics Foundation will be aggressive and raise awareness of prostate cancer to bring much-needed attention to the second leading cause of death in men.
Although prostate cancer is just as deadly as breast cancer, it receives only a fraction of the funding and nowhere near the amount of notice. The new Samadi Robotics Foundation website allows the visitors to learn more about prostate cancer, state-of-the-art treatments such as the da Vinci Robotic Prostatectomy, enlist to join events, and make contributions that will go towards research, fundraisers, and dedicated gifts to loved ones.
Key statistics show just how aware men and their family members should be:
There are an estimated nearly 3 million American men currently living with prostate cancer
A non-smoking man is more likely to develop prostate cancer than he is to develop colon, bladder, melanoma, lymphoma, or kidney cancers, combined.
A total of 220,800 new cases of prostate cancer and 27,540 deaths from the disease are anticipated in the United States in 2015.
The advocates of breast cancer have done an incredible job of raising awareness and excitement for their cause while prostate cancer has been left behind. This is why it is important for not only men to become more active, but also the women in their lives to help be a voice for prostate cancer. With further awareness come further advances in research and treatment through funding.
The Samadi Robotics Foundation will look to be a beacon of hope, a source of knowledge, and a leader in the fight against prostate cancer. Through this new website people can come together, join the foundation team, and help bring the global awareness to prostate cancer that it deserves.
