Designing and structuring competitive compensation plans that are aligned with family values and objectives ... is critical for success

Mack International LLC, the premier family office/wealth management retained executive search and consulting services firm, announced that the firm’s Founder and President Linda C. Mack appeared as a featured panelist at the 10th Annual LIDO Family Office Investment Symposium (FOIS), March 16-18 at The Loews Hotel, Santa Monica, Calif. More than 400 investors and industry experts gathered at the invitation-only family office symposium for two-and-a-half days of networking and educational panels.

Mack spoke at a closed-door, Private Family Office Roundtable panel of seasoned experts in the area of Family Offices, covering three main areas of interest – investing, family office administration and governance. The panelists each shared trends and best practices in their respective areas of expertise and engaged in an interactive audience discussion on issues and challenges of most concern facing family offices today.

“It’s fascinating that while no two families are ever alike, so many different families report very similar challenges in areas like attracting and retaining the talent needed to lead their family offices," Mack said. "The market for key family office executive talent is increasingly competitive. It requires families to be very strategic and professional in their approach to recruiting, compensating and retaining the talent they need in order to successfully achieve their family and business goals and objectives,” she added.

"Designing and structuring competitive compensation plans that are aligned with family values and objectives and are effective in incenting, rewarding and retaining key executives, is critical for success. Families are also increasingly focusing on more formalized retention strategies," Mack said.

The Roundtable was led by Gregory P. Kushner, Founder & President, Lido Consulting, Inc., and featured Linda Mack, Timothy Speiss, Vice President, EisnerAmper LLP, Tim Lappen Founder & Chairman, The Family Office Group & The Luxury Home Group, Jeffer Mangels Butler & Mitchell LLP / JMBM Preston Tsao, Managing Member, Metcircle Networking LLC, Paul Vogelgesang, Chief Risk Officer, Samueli Family Office, and Dr. James Weiner and Dr. Carolyn Friend, Co‐Founders, Wealth WhispererTM, Inheriting Wisdom.

Additional topics explored at the symposium included a 2015 economic outlook, alternative investing strategies, legislative updates, real estate investment opportunities, trends in emerging markets, estate planning, impactful investing, and philanthropy, among others.
