Businessolver's HealthTracker Directly Connects Wellness Activity to Insurance-Based Financial Incentives and Allows Employers to Select Wellness Vendors
West Des Moines, Iowa (PRWEB) March 27, 2015 -- Businessolver introduces HealthTracker, wellness administration technology built into its proprietary Benefitsolver(R) benefits technology software that: allows employees to track, manage and update their wellness-related activities; directly drives surcharges or credits that impact the benefit premium; and provides employers the option to select which wellness vendors they want to integrate into the program. In an effort to incentivize a healthy work population, 85% of large employers have a wellness program in place, according to a 2014 Gallup survey. While wellness programs differ greatly, and assessment of their worth is arguable to many - it is certain that wellness adds administrative burdens in monitoring employee progress, applying credits against premiums and analyzing outcomes.
HealthTracker helps reduce these administration challenges with a configurable set-up that connects wellness elements with insurance-based incentives. "If employees receive points for wellness activities, and a certain amount of points then reduce medical premiums, HealthTracker will monitor the points and assess the designated premium credit," said O'Connor. "Employees are also able to update wellness activity by themselves at any time, without administrator assistance."
For example: When an employee completes a health assessment or biometric screening and results are obtained, the testing company transfers those results into HealthTracker. Next, the employee may update HealthTracker with activity such as attending a wellness luncheon. Those data points are calculated and directly applied to the medical premium, allowing employees to monitor the impact their wellness activity has on their insurance benefits.
HealthTracker is able to collect and incorporate data provided from a variety of sources including wellness vendors, medical carriers and HR systems. "Until now, available wellness technology is linked to specific vendors," stated O'Connor. "HealthTracker allows administrators the option to continue using, or choose vendors with which they have established relationships and are comfortable. It will also aggregate information from which administrators can assess wellness outcome."
