The Ultimate Multitouch Table: Ideum’s Pro Lab Sports a 4K P-CAP Screen and 24TB of Removable Storage
Corrales, New Mexico (PRWEB) March 31, 2015 -- Ideum, makers of integrated, ruggedized multitouch tables and touch walls, now announces the ultimate multitouch table—one with unsurpassed touch performance, resolution, computing power and storage.
Ideum’s all new Pro Lab multitouch table has a new projected capacitive (P-CAP) 55” multitouch screen with 100 touch points, and a 4K UHD display. The lip of the display is just 1” thin. Inside the Pro Lab’s locking, all-aluminum pedestal, there is an Intel Core i7 computer with 32GB of RAM and three 2TB removable disk drives. The Pro Lab can be upgraded to include three 8TB removable drives for an astounding 24TB of storage.
The Pro Lab model is designed for processor- and storage-intensive applications. Its removable drives allow all data to be completely secured. Fortune 500 companies, research labs, and government organizations have entrusted their most sensitive internal operations to the Pro Lab. Along with a powerful computer and amazing new display, the Pro Lab has a full audio system and integrated UPS backup. It also has standard communications technology such as WiFi and Bluetooth, plus RFID, that can be used to trigger programs or identify users. Of course, all of the communication devices can be disabled or requested to be removed for use in secure environments.
The new 55” P-CAP display, found on the Pro Lab, uses projected-capacitive touch, which is the same touch technology found in popular tablets and smart phones. P-CAP is a highly reliable, non-optical form of touch technology; it is bezel-less and impervious to interference from light. The display supports up to 100 simultaneous touch points, with an impressive 5ms response time and 4K UHD LED LCD display. The screen has an all-aluminum frame with a 1-inch lip and is less 2 inches thick, making it the thinnest multitouch display in the world.
“The Pro Lab is totally unique. No other touch table in the world comes close in terms of features,” says Jim Spadaccini, Founder of Ideum. “Our research and government clients have been using the Pro Lab for years; this major update brings all of the newest and best features to you, in one reliable model. The Pro Lab has an amazing 4K multitouch display, with upgradeable storage of up to 24 terabytes of storage. It is a dream machine for intensive touch computing.”
All of Ideum’s touch tables and touch walls are tough enough for public spaces, built from aircraft-grade aluminum. The systems are also turn-key, designed to require little to no maintenance. With lockable, push-button controls, they are easy to set up and maintain in any environment. Sold in more than 30 countries, Ideum touch tables and touch walls are used in schools, universities, laboratories, retail settings, museums, and other demanding environments. All of Ideum’s products are designed and built in the USA.
