Greenberg Traurig and MassBio Host Portugal Life Sciences Breakfast Focused on U.S. Life Sciences Mission to Portugal

Greenberg Traurig, LLP and the Massachusetts Biotechnology Council (MassBio) are holding a Portugal Life Sciences Breakfast Monday, March 30, from 8– 9:30 a.m. at the offices of MassBio. The breakfast will provide information about the upcoming U.S. Life Sciences Mission to Portugal, June 1-3, 2015, which is being organized by the U.S. Embassy in Lisbon. Featured speakers include U.S. Ambassador to Portugal Robert Sherman and Massachusetts State Senator Michael Rodrigues.

Chaired by Nobel Laureate Dr. Craig Mello, the Mission to Portugal aims to foster cooperation and create synergies between U.S. and Portuguese entrepreneurs, companies, investors, and research institutions. Participants will have the opportunity to engage with Portugal’s top leaders in the life sciences field and discover early opportunities for investment, new business development, and R&D collaboration.

The itinerary will include:

  • Meetings with Portugal’s Top Life Sciences companies and entrepreneurs.
  • Meetings showcasing the best of Portuguese technology and innovation and the opportunity meet with Portuguese startups.
  • Site visits to Portugal’s state of the art biotechnology centers for applied research and development.
  • Connecting with Portuguese and U.S. investors in the Life Sciences Sector and to learn firsthand about European Incentive Programs, such as Horizon 2020.
  • Targeted panels focused on commercializing R&D and academic and scientific cooperation.
  • Interaction with other Portuguese foundations, government officials, scientists, and business executives.
  • Several networking events, a including U.S. Embassy reception hosted by Ambassador Robert Sherman.
