Nuvon Enhances Patient Safety with Launch of FDA Class II-Approved Clinical Intelligence Solution
Philadelphia, PA (PRWEB) April 01, 2015 -- Nuvon, Inc., a leader in medical device integration, interoperability, and analytics, is pleased to announce the launch of its FDA Class II-approved Nuvon Vitals Charting System (Nuvon VCS). The system provides a clinical rules and intelligence platform coupled with medical device data charting and visualization.
Nuvon VCS includes a proprietary Rules Engine that utilizes multi-source data that enables clinicians to be notified about events of interest, such as those indicating patients who may be trending towards high frequency and high cost adverse events – including respiratory distress and sepsis. “Nuvon VCS provides clinicians with a means to identify and focus on at-risk patients and trends of interest,” said John Zaleski, Chief Informatics Officer of Nuvon. “The Rules Engine leverages the existing medical evidence-based criteria, which may be enhanced by the inclusion of clinician-defined criteria as part of their practice of medicine.”
Leveraging any HL7 data source as well as the advanced capabilities of Nuvon’s VegaTM System, which was recently ranked in a KLAS report as the top medical device integration solution on the market, Nuvon VCS:
• Facilitates improved staff productivity and efficiency
• Assists clinicians in managing patient care workflow
• Informs better care practices
• Serves as a medical device data validation chart.
“The launch of Nuvon VCS is the next step in the evolution of using real time, multi-source medical device data not only for integration into an EMR system, but more importantly, to assist clinicians in making better and more timely decisions regarding patient care and safety,” said Christopher Gatti, Chief Executive Officer of Nuvon.
Nuvon is the partner of choice for many leading health systems across the country, including The Cleveland Clinic Foundation, Virtua Health, NorthShore University Health System, and Denver Health.
