Diamonds Direct Offers Appraisal Services for Jewelry Items at No Charge to Customers

The no cost appraisal is offered year round. Customers are encouraged to make an appointment beforehand by calling Diamonds Direct, and they will need to bring the piece's paperwork with them along with the piece that needs appraising.
Staff members at Diamonds Direct will take a look at any of the precious stones customers bring in, and they will also clean them before doing a full inspection and grading the stones.
Customers are then able to take the records they receive from Diamonds Direct and give them to their insurance agents. If the agents have any questions, Diamonds Direct will speak to them, too.
These services, said Mahler, set them apart from other jewelry stores and appraisal services in the area.
Because Diamonds Direct doesn't advertise, the complimentary appraisal service is a great way to get people through the door, Mahler said. This gives customers the opportunity to ask other questions about the store's services, such as "Which jewelry items would make an appropriate gift?" or "How do I custom design an engagement ring?"
More importantly, Mahler said, news of this service travels quickly among current and prospective clients.
But the word of mouth isn't the only thing that moves fast, said Mahler. Where many appraisers of jewelry and other goods will keep a customer's item for up to two weeks, Diamonds Direct will only take a half hour -- sometimes less -- to appraise an item.
"We had one woman who came in with quite a few items," Mahler said of a recent customer. "She dropped them off and ran a few errands, and when she came back an hour later, her items were ready to be picked up."
Customers who call ahead and want an estimate of how long this experienced appraisal service will take are always surprised that Diamonds Direct gives them a half hour wait period, Mahler said.
