Track Cyclist Cheryl Fairweather and Oxygen Plus (O+) Partner On The Road to Olympic Gold

Professional multiple-sport athlete, Cheryl Fairweather, and leading portable oxygen company, Oxygen Plus (O+), have teamed up to realize the dreams fueled by a lifetime of perseverance. Powered by Oxygen Plus, the Olympic medal hopeful is set to participate in the summer 2016 Olympic Games as a representative of Belize in Track Cycling. Cheryl will be the first to represent Belize in this category, and also plans to be the country’s trailblazer in winter sports in Speedskating at the 2018 Winter Olympic Games. To help raise funds for Cheryl’s travel, equipment and training costs for Rio 2016, a 60-day fundraising Indiegogo campaign launches April 1, 2015.

Following a nearly fatal crash during a cycling competition in July 2014, Cheryl was faced with the decision to retire her Olympic dreams, or, to bounce back to compete before a worldwide audience. Supporters of this determined athlete will have an opportunity to partner with her to Olympic greatness through financial contributions and donations via Indiegogo.

The poignant campaign reveals some of the hardships and triumphs of Cheryl’s personal and professional life. She opens up about her abusive upbringing, the challenge of living in foster care, and shares how she beat the odds to go to college and become an inspiring, professional athlete.

“Partnering with Oxygen Plus through Indiegogo not only provides me with what I need to bring Belize its first Olympic medal in Track Cycling. It also allows me to share my personal story of triumph,” said Cheryl Fairweather. “In everything I do, whether professional or personal, my main goal is to bring hope to people living in situations that seem hopeless. This is why I breathe. This is why I compete.”

Oxygen Plus will provide Cheryl with an unlimited supply of portable, recreational oxygen canisters to help her go the distance. The lightweight canisters of 95% pure oxygen have been an essential training tool in Cheryl’s regimen, helping her increase stamina and energy levels, while also aiding in recovery and reducing muscle fatigue.

“We are extremely proud of all that Cheryl has, and continues to accomplish, in her personal and professional life,” said Christine Warren, President and Founder of Oxygen Plus. “She represents a level of strength and dignity that is truly inspiring, and we are honored to be a part of the history and legacy she is already leaving.”

To help Cheryl Fairweather achieve her Olympic goals, those who are inspired can partner with Cheryl on her Indiegogo campaign before May 30th, 2015.
