SMi’s 2nd annual Peptides conference will be taking place on the 8th & 9th July 2015 in London, UK

Set to take place on 8th & 9th July in London, Peptides 2015 will gather a global audience of leading scientists and specialists in the healthcare industry as they explore current developments and delivery of novel therapeutics. The conference sets the stage for attendees to gain valuable insight into innovative topics such as cyclic peptides: R&D platforms, manufacture and stability, oral delivery of peptides, cell permeable peptide therapeutics for cancer treatments and development of Peptides for the clinic. Along with this, the programme will provide insight into formulating solutions for delivery and round table discussions led by Medimmune’s Lutz Jermutus on case studies demonstrating the translation of R&D peptides to the clinic.

Peptides currently have a very strong place in the field of pharmacology and will become increasingly prevalent in the clinic as demonstrated by the strong growth in the market which is forecasted to grow to $25.5Bn at the end of 2018.

Keynote address will include Bicycle Therapeutics’ Head of Chemistry Dan Teufel who will discuss Past, present and future of Peptide Platforms: Challenges and Opportunities; a spotlight presentation from Haemostatix, Research Manager Renata Zbozien will feature a talk on Anovel class of peptide coagulant for surgical bleeding, looking at designing against multiple criteria, SAR optimisation and formulation.

The 2 day agenda will feature over 17 case study driven presentations, Keynote speakers representing MedImmune, Nexigen, Ensemble Therapeutics, Genyo, UCB Celltech plus many more and over 3 hours of networking with industry professionals who are leading the way in Peptides.

Diabetology alongside with Bicycle Therapeutics will run an interactive half-day workshop entitled: Cyclic Peptides: Discovery, Development and Deployment, examining the reasons why cyclic peptides continue to show increased potential as therapeutic agents in the future. The workshop will look at the advantages and disadvantages of working with cyclic peptides and different methods for discovery of active compounds, including examples of application in treatment of models for disease.
