What excites me about working for ATG Training is the impact we have on the young people we work with in helping them to develop successful and rewarding careers.

After graduating from the University of Cambridge, Jonathan’s career started as an Employment Advisor and he has always been passionate about bringing positive change to the lives of the clients he has worked with. “Delivering services to help long-term unemployed people into work, building relationships with clients and making a difference to their lives were a huge privilege for me,” says Jon.

More recently, Jon led a contact centre team that provided information and guidance to separated parents on making the best maintenance arrangements for them and their children. “I’ve always looked for roles where I can help to make a positive difference, and that’s exactly what ATG Training does. For more than 45 years, ATG Training has delivered high-quality training based on the needs of employers. What excites me about working for ATG Training is the impact we have on the young people we work with in helping them to develop successful and rewarding careers. We are helping to address genuine skills needs and helping the employers we work with to thrive,” explains Jon.

He acknowledges how rigorous its training provision is, and how high the levels of technical competence of learners are. “ATG Training aspires to be outstanding in everything it does. We are recognised as the leading provider of cycle maintenance training in the country and a long-established and respected partner of engineering and manufacturing businesses in the Thames Valley. Our challenge is to increase our customer base and broaden the range of services we offer so that more employers and learners can benefit from our expertise,” says Jon, “It is an exciting and challenging time to be in the work-based learning sector. The widespread recognition that apprenticeships must be a key part of government and employer strategies, to increase productivity and grow the economy, gives us the opportunity to demonstrate that ATG Training is very well positioned to play a significant role in those strategies.”

ATG Training’s apprenticeships include mechanical and electrical engineering, electronics and maintenance, as well as those for service-based occupations such as customer service, logistics, business and administration. It also provides a wide range of management development programmes. Future Centre, the training provider’s purpose built facility, boasts state of the art equipment and an excellent learning environment; training today, for tomorrow’s workforce.
