New Waimea Burger Sends Taste Buds Soaring at Islands

Islands Restaurants is debuting a brand new burger, tacos and sliders featuring Kalua pulled pork, available for a limited time starting April 1.

Islands Restaurants, best known for its surf-inspired burgers, fresh cut fries and a laid back beach atmosphere, is kicking off spring with brand new menu offerings featuring Kalua pulled pork, starting in April.

The featured new menu item, the Waimea Burger, is a classic Islands burger topped with Kalua pork, caramelized onions, Swiss cheese and finished with Islands’ signature grilled pineapple for a tropical twist. Pair the Waimea with Islands’ fresh cut seasoned or sweet potato fries and you have a meal guaranteed to conquer post-surf hunger attacks.

Islands will also roll out the Cabo Loco Tacos, loaded with Kalua pulled pork and caramelized onions stuffed between two flour tortillas and topped with a cilantro-chili sauce. For an appetizer, Islands is offering Kalua Pork Sliders, featuring four mini sandwiches topped with Kalua pork grilled in a smoky barbecue sauce.

For those looking to kick their meal up a notch, pair any of these dishes with the Makaha Maggie, a margarita featuring Islands’ famous sweet and smoky house-made pineapple infused tequila. Other recommended pairings include any of Islands’ famous tropical cocktails – like the Mai Tai or Big Island Iced Tea – or an ice-cold local craft brew.
