The Hinge Research Institute surveyed over 1,000 purchasers to examine their relationships with high-profile experts.

In today’s technology services industry, Visible Experts are becoming the preferred advisors for firms’ biggest challenges.

Hinge Research Institute released new research analyzing the influence of Visible Experts℠ in the technology services industry. The report was released on March 30, 2015 as a free download on Hinge’s website, http://goo.gl/pdC0zO.

“Hinge’s mission in our new research was to further investigate the phenomenon we describe as The Visible Expert℠,” said Elizabeth Harr, Partner at Hinge. “In the past, we’ve found that technology services buyers are drawn to providers with high profiles and strong reputations. We surveyed over 1,000 purchasers to learn more about how these Visible Experts are delivering confidence in a changing industry.”

The study examined several aspects of buyers’ relationships with high-profile expertise:

  •     Why and how buyers seek out high visibility experts
  •     How buyers “check out” potential service providers
  •     What convinces buyers that someone is a Visible Expert
  •     Benefits of working with a Visible Expert in technology services

In addition, 130 Visible Experts were surveyed to find out more about their rise, and how their visibility impacts their own firms and clients. Hinge investigated:

  •     Hourly rates firms will pay for Visible Experts
  •     Top lead sources for these industry stars
  •     The most impactful marketing tools for high visibility experts
  •     What makes certain professionals ascend to Visible Expert status at an especially fast pace

“Adding a personal perspective to this research is Dave Munn, the President and longtime leader of the Information Technology Services Marketing Association (ITSMA) who offered an interview on his Visible Expert journey,” continued Harr. “Dave has risen to the top of his field and is now sought-after by top companies and publications for his specialized expertise in IT services marketing.”

“In today’s technology services industry, Visible Experts are becoming the preferred advisors for firms’ biggest challenges. And not only are they sought-after by buyers, they are creating profound benefits for their own firms and careers,” continued Harr. “It’s clear the entire triad is thriving from Visible Experts. We encourage everyone to read this game-changing research and join the Visible Expert movement.”

The report is available for free download at http://goo.gl/pdC0zO. Drawing on the same research, separate editions have also been published for three other professional services sectors: management consulting, accounting and financial services, and architecture, engineering, and construction services.
