Vancouver Hosts the World's First Integrative Fertility Symposium
Vancouver, Canada (PRWEB) April 01, 2015 -- Natural fertility experts from around the world will be flocking to Vancouver to attend the world’s first Integrative Fertility Symposium (https://ifsymposium.com/) April 30th to May 3rd, 2015, at Harbour Centre (SFU Downtown Campus), 515 West Hastings Street, Vancouver BC. There will also be a free public talk Sunday, May 3rd, 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Harbour Centre.
"The Integrative Fertility Symposium is the first of its kind in the world to bring together reproductive endocrinologists, urologists, Drs of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), naturopaths and Functional Medicine specialists with the one goal of helping patients conceive and have a healthy baby," says conference co-organizer Dr Lorne Brown. For founder and clinical director of Acubalance Wellness Centre in Vancouver (acubalance.ca) -- the first Chinese medicine clinic in British Columbia to specialize in reproductive health and fertility treatment -- this conference is the culmination of Dr Brown’s pioneering work over the last decade promoting integrative fertility care and the healthy baby approach.
The sold-out conference has attracted over 300 healthcare providers (there is now a waiting list for the upcoming 2016 symposium). The speaker list is made up of internationally recognized fertility experts speaking on a range of topics including:
• New research showing increase in live births with the addition of Traditional Chinese Medicine to In Vitro Fertilization (IVF)
• Male infertility as biomarker of health
• Immunological infertility and uterine receptivity
(Click here for a complete list https://ifsymposium.com/symposium-time-table.)
The integrative approach is a combination of both Western and Eastern medicine that aims to treat the whole patient and may combine high-tech fertility treatments like in vitro fertilization (IVF) with natural therapies like acupuncture, diet and mind-body techniques like mindfulness meditation.
"The conference is not just about exchanging information and presenting studies but about all these reproductive medical experts getting together in a dynamic way to establish best practices and ways of working together," says Dr Ray Rubio, conference co-organizer and President Emeritus and Executive Director of the American Board of Oriental Reproductive Medicine (ABORM). "An integrative approach creates healthier mommies and daddies, which equals healthier pregnancies, reduced rates of miscarriage, reduced rates of complications in pregnancy and healthier take-home babies."
The popularity of this symposium speaks to the groundswell of demand for integrative fertility treatment and the paradigm shift happening in fertility care. Modern reproductive medicine has made huge advancements in IVF and other reproductive technologies, but studies are showing that alternative medicine is proving to be effective at treating underlying causes of infertility, improving the overall health of male and female partners and in helping to increase live births.
Known internationally for his ground-breaking work as an educator and advocate for integrative fertility care, Dr Brown was the first Canadian to serve on the board of the ABORM as well as become the first Canadian to be certified as a Fellow of the ABORM. In addition to founding Acubalance, Dr Brown has made a significant contribution to the advancement of Reproductive Chinese Medicine worldwide through founding Pro D Seminars.com and Medigogy.com -- the largest English online resource for continuing education for Chinese Medicine reproductive health.
This conference also includes a free talk for the public.
