Leader in clean energy to offset 100% of conference’s carbon impact

As a Boulder company, it gives us great pleasure to be able to partner with the Colorado USGBC to support the Rocky Mountain Green event, and to neutralize its carbon impact

Renewable Choice Energy announced today that it will partner with the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) Colorado chapter to provide clean energy and emission reductions for the Rocky Mountain Green conference held this week in Denver. The event is the premier green building conference in Colorado, bringing together professionals and experts from across the Colorado green building marketplace. Attendees are able to earn continuing education hours and network with others in Colorado green building.

The USGBC is a member-organization working to transform the built space into a sustainable one. The organization is the administrator of the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification program, the leading green building program worldwide, certifying more than 3.6 billion square feet as of January, 2015. The agency ranks Colorado as being in the top five areas with the greatest per capita investment in green buildings for 2014.

Renewable Choice has supported the certification of more than 6,000 global LEED projects by providing clean energy in the form of renewable energy credits (RECs) and verified emission reductions in the form of carbon offsets to projects looking to earn LEED points under the Energy & Atmosphere credit. The company is offsetting 100% of the event’s carbon impact, including the events emissions as the commute emissions for the 400 attendees, a total of 24 metric tons of carbon dioxide. The company’s subsidiary, Mosaic Sustainability, conducted the greenhouse gas (GHG) inventory for the event.

“As a Boulder company, it gives us great pleasure to be able to partner with the Colorado USGBC to support the Rocky Mountain Green event, and to neutralize its carbon impact,” said Lana Carmichael, Director of Green Building for Renewable Choice.
