“Hack-a-Bong” Competition Celebrating 420 Day Promises Burlesque and Creative Bubblers
Denver, Colorado (PRWEB) April 02, 2015 -- Saturday, April 18, in celebration of “420 Day,” the North American counterculture celebration of marijuana and marijuana culture, Denver & Los Angeles-based event production company Lusty Kitten Productions will present “Hack-A-Bong,” a pot-smoking hardware hack competition followed by a 420-themed burlesque show at LarMark15, located between Larimer and Market on 15th Street in LoDo. Doors open at 2 p.m. for the competition from 3-7 p.m., and winners will be announced during curtain call for the burlesque show at 8 p.m. Registration for the competition, including a wide variety of hardware and everyday items to hack into a working smoking accessory, one well drink from the bar and admission to the burlesque show is available for $30 in advance at http://hackabong.bpt.me, or for $35 at the door. Tickets to the burlesque show only are available for $10 in advance and $15 at the door for general admission and $15 in advance and $20 on the day of the event for VIP seating at http://hackabong.bpt.me, or by calling Brown Paper Tickets' 24/7 event concierges at 1-800-838-3006.
“Now that recreational marijuana use is legal in Colorado, people feel much more liberated in celebrating marijuana culture,” said Spy Kitten, co-founder of Lusty Kitten Productions. “Colorado has become a 420 travel destination and our intent is to welcome anyone coming to town for the 420 holiday, to celebrate with us.”
Individuals and teams of up to four people can win prizes for their Hack–a-Bong creations in prize categories including Most Creative, MacGyver, Strippers Choice and Audience Favorite. “Being marijuana connoisseurs ourselves, we know that enthusiasts can come up with some extraordinarily creative smoking hacks,” Spy Kitten said. “We wanted to give participants a place to let their innovative creativity flow in a friendly, but competitive environment during the 420 holiday weekend, and then celebrate their inventions with a burlesque show.”
The burlesque show will feature 420-themed performances by Los Angeles' Nadia Lotte, Denver's Spy Kitten, as well as Washington DC's Karamel Sutra. The evening's host will be Jeff Kos, a local actor and comedian who can be seen in the Avenue Theater's upcoming re-staging of last year's critically acclaimed “Motherhood Out Loud.” “Come for the bongs, stay for the boobs!” Spy Kitten said.
