SAE International Seeks Volunteers for Formula SAE Lincoln Competition
WARRENDALE, Pa. (PRWEB) April 03, 2015 -- SAE International is seeking volunteers for its 2015 Formula SAE Lincoln competition, to be held June 17 - 20 at the Lincoln Airpark in Lincoln, Neb.
100 teams have registered for the event split between our classes – 80 Internal Combustion and 20 Electric; and approximately 1,500 students will be onsite. SAE International is seeking approximately 250 volunteers from engineering/mobility industries, motorsport enthusiasts and local business and academia. Our main focus of recruitment is for experienced individuals to assist with our “static events”. Student teams participate in three events; Cost, Design and Sales Presentation. Volunteers are needed who have a variety of backgrounds/knowledge in any management, sales business, and manufacturing or cost estimating, and engineering design areas.
In addition, SAE International is looking for volunteers to fulfill a required role as technical inspector. Technical inspectors should be qualified scrutineers or people familiar with vehicle engineering, design and fabrication or electrical battery management as you will examine each vehicle to determine if it complies with the requirements and restrictions of the rules. Inspections are conducted using a technical inspection check list that is published on the FSAE website prior to the competition.
Time commitments require one-to-four days; those volunteering will have fun in addition to supporting a worthwhile educational experience for future engineers.
